DRAMA & THEATRE - My Passion & Experience

Image
Drama and theatre have always been subjects I deeply love. I joined the University of Visual and Performing Arts , and being surrounded by its artistic environment and vibrant culture further fueled my passion for this field. Through drama and theatre, I discovered a unique way to express my emotions, desires, and thoughts. The Significance of Drama Character Development – Whether reading, performing, or creating a play, we get to explore characters’ emotions, love, sorrow, and challenges in a lively, relatable way. Social and Cultural Perspective – Drama introduces us to new ideas about society, relationships, power, and conflict, allowing us to think differently about the world around us. Experience and Liveliness – Stage elements like lighting, music, and set design add depth and bring a live, immersive experience to every performance. Acting and Training Developing psychological and emotional skills essential for actors. Learning voice modulation, body language, and stage pres...

Titanic

Image
I always tell people, the most beautiful and emotional movie I’ve ever watched is Titanic . Ever since I saw it, I carried the sadness in my heart for days. Jack… when he was gone, I felt like I couldn’t bear it. He wasn’t just a simple character. Jack represented freedom, love, and the joy of truly living . When he was gone, it felt like the love he brought into the world had vanished and that emptiness hit me hard. I realized… in life, so many things can disappear unexpectedly. Watching Titanic, that kind of sadness touches everyone. Your love, your happiness, your freedom , sometimes they’re gone, never to return. And that’s what I learned from this movie… To appreciate love, freedom, and the little beautiful moments in life. About Jack, I just want to say: “Poor Jack… when you were gone, I couldn’t bear it, but you will always live in my heart.” Everyone who watches Titanic thinks the same thing: “True love is this mix of joy and heartbreak, all at once.” This movie will always st...

Migraine - An Illness That Brings Life to a Halt

Image
Over the past few days, I wasn’t able to write any blog posts because I was unwell. After a long time, today I finally got the chance to sit down and write again. And the reason behind this break wasn’t just a simple sickness. It was a migraine. In my opinion, migraine is one of those illnesses that no one should ever have to experience. Once it strikes, it becomes extremely difficult to do anything at all. Not even big tasks , sometimes even talking, looking at light, or holding a phone feels unbearable. A migraine is not just a normal headache. When it comes, it can last for hours or even days. There’s an intense, throbbing pain, often on one side of the head, pain behind the eyes, nausea, and a strong sensitivity to light and sound. At times, it feels as though the brain itself is completely overwhelmed. What makes it even harder is that people who haven’t experienced it often don’t understand it. Some say, “It’s just a headache, right?” But anyone who suffers from migraines knows h...

MY TRIP TO THE BOOKFAIR

Image
I can’t clearly remember the exact date, but I vividly remember how happy I felt that day. It was the day I went to the book fair with my friend, Takeshi. We started our journey early in the morning from Ratnapura. After reaching the book fair at the BMICH, we explored the place together. It was truly a beautiful day. We bought many books and also got the chance to meet several authors. Among the books I purchased were Amawaka Hasa, Sepalika, Lakshi, and Piyasara Samaya. By around 3:00 PM, we had finished our shopping. Since we wanted to enjoy the freedom we hadn’t felt for a long time, we walked around the BMICH premises a few more times. Later, we went to Colombo Fort and waited for a bus for a long time. It even started to rain. By the time I finally reached home, it was very late at night. It was a truly beautiful journey.

ONE DAY

Image
One day I got sick. So I was on my way to get medicine. We had to get off the beautiful bridge over the river in our village and go to the dispensary. Oh my god...! I dont know if you will believe it. It was a really nice trip. Because I went there for a long time. So now that bridge is before my eyes. I happily walked over the bridge, surrounded by blue fields. Beyond the paddy fields, blue color mountains. Beautiful clouds like a blue sea. The river flows beautifully under bridge. I took a lot of pictures that day. They are very beautiful. Walk through a village at least once in your life and have an experience like this.
