Migraine - An Illness That Brings Life to a Halt

Over the past few days, I wasn’t able to write any blog posts because I was unwell. After a long time, today I finally got the chance to sit down and write again. And the reason behind this break wasn’t just a simple sickness. It was a migraine.

In my opinion, migraine is one of those illnesses that no one should ever have to experience. Once it strikes, it becomes extremely difficult to do anything at all. Not even big tasks , sometimes even talking, looking at light, or holding a phone feels unbearable.

A migraine is not just a normal headache. When it comes, it can last for hours or even days. There’s an intense, throbbing pain, often on one side of the head, pain behind the eyes, nausea, and a strong sensitivity to light and sound. At times, it feels as though the brain itself is completely overwhelmed.

What makes it even harder is that people who haven’t experienced it often don’t understand it. Some say, “It’s just a headache, right?” But anyone who suffers from migraines knows how heavy and exhausting that pain really is. During those moments, the only thing you can do is rest quietly, usually in a dark room.

That’s the reason I couldn’t write my blog during these past few days. Even though I wanted to, my mind simply wouldn’t cooperate. So being able to write this today, after feeling a little better, brings me genuine happiness.

To everyone who suffers from migraines, I want to say this: you are not weak. This is a real medical condition. You have every right to rest, to pause, and to take care of yourself.

Migraine is not something anyone deserves to go through. But when people who suffer from it understand and support one another, even that small sense of understanding can bring a bit of comfort.
